2010 NZPCA Eqvalan Teams Dressage – Trophy Winners

Big Congratulations to Emma Milliken and Anna Nesbit for achieving their B Certificates yesterday at Clyde. Anna and Grace have passed their A assessment, meaning that they can go forward for the next South Island A certificate exam. Olivia also passed her C+ certificate.

Big big thanks must also go to Fiona for helping to organizing the girls exams down in Clyde. It takes  many hours and many phone calls to make these exams happen. Thanks also to Clyde for the set up and use of their facility as well as Jacque for all her advice and coaching.

All Wakatipu girls all recieved very high level passes.

Lets hope we can get some more exams happening very soon.

Well done to all of you!

2010 Mitavite South Island Pony Club Show Jumping Championships
Taieri A&P Show Grounds, Mosgiel
Tuesday 26th & Wednesday 27th January 2010

Welcome to the first newsletter for the 2010 South Island Pony Club Show Jumping Championships to be run by the Taieri District Pony Club at the Taieri A & P show grounds at Mosgiel.

Please note change of days from previous years to Tuesday - Wednesday (rather than Monday - Tuesday). Dressage Champs are being held the weekend immediately prior and we have been requested to allow a day between so horses can travel if in both events.

Taieri District Pony Club would like to extend an invitation to all South Island branches to nominate teams and draft riders to this event and to provide information about the event proceedings.

There are 91 branches in the South Island and we would like to make it possible for all branches to be represented at this event. Small branches are able to make up composite teams, and the draft rider system, which allows riders to be placed in a team or compete as an individual rider.

For horse accommodation, there are a number of yards and boxes at the show grounds, which will be allocated on a first-in basis. No tape pens are permitted on the grounds at this event. We have paddocking available within a 5-15 minute radius of the show grounds, which should be requested on the nomination form. There are a limited number of motels in Mosgiel, and many more in Dunedin within a 15-20 minute drive. People may also stay at the show grounds.

After the first day of competition there will be the opportunity to attend a dinner to enable all teams to dine and socialise. Confirmation of dinner orders will be required with final team confirmation in December, an indication of whether your team will attend the dinner and numbers would be appreciated on the nomination form.

The AGM will follow 10 minutes after the completion of classes and prize giving at the end of first day’s competition. Remits must be sent to event secretary before close of nominations on 24th October, so these can be forwarded to all branches with the second newsletter.

There is also the opportunity to participate in the Otago Taieri A & P Show over the weekend immediately prior to the championships. See advert later in this newsletter.
